Bernard Smithson, a 30-year-old Jacksonville resident, was shot and killed on May 28, 2017. He was found behind an abandoned home on King Street, less than a mile from his own residence. The incident occurred late at night, and authorities have not identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case.
