On December 27, 2014, Flagstaff Police Officer Tyler Jacob Stewart, aged 24, tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Officer Stewart was investigating a domestic violence incident at an apartment complex in Flagstaff, Arizona, when the fatal incident occurred.

During the investigation, Officer Stewart was shot by a suspect involved in the domestic violence case. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries and died at Flagstaff Medical Center.
