On February 25, 2015, Marvin Neal James, a 54-year-old resident of Flagstaff, Arizona, was shot and killed. The incident occurred at the home he shared with his girlfriend, Susan Joy Jacobson, in the Doney Park neighborhood.

Susan Joy Jacobson, who was 44 years old at the time, met with a deputy and confessed to the crime. During this meeting, she informed the deputy that she had shot and killed Marvin Neal James and disclosed that his body was still at their residence.
