On January 31, 2017, Blanca Gutierrez-Calzoncit, a 35-year-old woman from Phoenix, Arizona, was fatally shot in a north Phoenix apartment parking lot. The incident occurred early in the morning as she was putting her young children into her car. Despite the close proximity of the children to the shooting, they were unharmed.
