On September 25, 2017, a deadly shooting occurred in west Phoenix, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Chris Alejandro Romo. The incident took place near the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 6:30 p.m. following a traffic altercation between Romo, his 22-year-old friend, and the suspect, 34-year-old Timothy Elliot Pascale.
