In the early morning hours of November 16, 2019, a house party on North Loretta Drive in Tucson, Arizona, turned tragic. Abdullahi Mohamed Abdullahi, a 19-year-old male, was in the front yard of the residence when an altercation broke out amongst the attendees. Gunshots suddenly rang out, striking Abdullahi.
Tucson police officers were dispatched to the scene at 3:33 a.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Abdullahi with evident gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate rendering of first aid by the officers, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after their arrival.
Detectives determined that the gathering was attended by a mix of juveniles and young adults. The conflict that led to the fatal shooting erupted outside the house. While several witnesses remained and cooperated with the investigation, a number of individuals who were present at the time of the incident fled before police could speak with them.
The investigation into Abdullahi's death led to the identification of a suspect. On the evening of December 11, 2019, Marcos-Angelo Fimbres was arrested in connection with the murder. Fimbres was subsequently charged with murder and booked into the Pima County Jail.
