On the night of June 1, 2020, Alan Banuelos, a 25-year-old Hispanic male from Somerton, Arizona, was killed in a shooting in Yuma. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office received a call about shots being fired in the 3800 block of W. 5th Street at approximately 10:58 PM. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Banuelos with fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the location of the incident.
