On the night of June 1, 2020, Alan Banuelos, a 25-year-old Hispanic male from Somerton, Arizona, was killed in a shooting in Yuma. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office received a call about shots being fired in the 3800 block of W. 5th Street at approximately 10:58 PM. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Banuelos with fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the location of the incident.
Two other men were also victims in the triple shooting.
Both were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment of their gunshot wounds. One of the victims was later flown to a hospital in Phoenix for further medical attention. At the time of the reports, his condition was unknown, while the third victim was listed in stable condition.
Born on November 23, 1994, in Yuma, Alan Banuelos worked as an upholstery assembler. His family was notified of his death, and the community has since paid tribute to his memory. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the homicide. The case remains active, and authorities have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
