On August 16, 2020, at approximately 5 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to reports of a shooting near McDowell Road and 12th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Thomas Garcia suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
