On February 7, 1996, Jeremy Carpenter was shot and killed in the 1500 block of 25th Street, SE, Washington, D.C. The incident took place at approximately 9:00 p.m., and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the scene after reports of gunfire. Carpenter, found unresponsive, succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward. The MPD has since classified the case as a homicide and has called on the community for assistance in gathering information about the crime.
