In the quiet community of Paulden, Arizona, a tragedy unfolded on the evening of November 23, 2022. Deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Alpine Drive around 10 p.m. following a 911 call about a man with a gunshot wound. Upon their arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Tristin Roque, a male, unresponsive inside a trailer.
For nearly an hour, law enforcement personnel attempted life-saving measures on Tristin, but their efforts were ultimately
in vain. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 11:20 p.m. The immediate aftermath of the shooting was shrouded in confusion, as detectives from the YCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau received conflicting accounts from several witnesses, making it difficult to piece together the precise sequence of events that led to the fatal incident.
As the investigation progressed, a suspect was identified and taken into custody. The individual arrested in connection with the death of Tristin Roque was his own father, Donald Roque. While an arrest was made, authorities noted that the investigation was still active and that formal charges against Donald Roque had not yet been finalized at the time of the initial reports.
