Marquis Tariq Johnson, a 24-year-old resident of Mesa, Arizona, lost his life due to gun violence on February 5, 2023. The incident occurred when officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds.

Johnson was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m. on the same day. The investigation by Mesa police detectives revealed that Johnson was with a friend at the time of the shooting.
