Murdered

On the evening of April 2, 2023, Gerardo Chavez, 35, was fatally shot in central Phoenix near 13th and Fillmore streets. Phoenix police responded to reports of a shooting around 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned that a juvenile male victim had been transported to a nearby gas station and subsequently taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
