In the late morning of Memorial Day, May 29, 2023, the quiet desert landscape of Yuma County, Arizona, became the scene of a grim discovery. The body of 35-year-old Georgina Montoya, a female resident of nearby Somerton, was found along a county road in the area of Avenue 1E and County 18th Street. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office responded to the report at approximately 11:42 a.m. and, upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that she was the victim of a homicide.
