In the late morning of Memorial Day, May 29, 2023, the quiet desert landscape of Yuma County, Arizona, became the scene of a grim discovery. The body of 35-year-old Georgina Montoya, a female resident of nearby Somerton, was found along a county road in the area of Avenue 1E and County 18th Street.
