In the early morning hours of a late September day, the tranquility of the Tonto National Forest near Payson, Arizona, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On September 30, 2023, 27-year-old Michael Glover, a male resident of Scottsdale, was fatally shot at a campsite in the woods near the Rim Trail subdivision. The Gila County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 4:30 a.m. from a woman who reported hearing gunshots. She was driving toward Payson with another woman who had come running ...
