In May of 2016, a quiet Lincoln, Nebraska neighborhood was disrupted by a tragic event that unfolded inside a home at 6715 Bethany Park Drive. Concerns grew when family members were unable to reach 53-year-old Tina A. Jensen, a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service. Their worries led them to her residence on Sunday, May 15, 2016, where they made a grim discovery.
Inside the house, three individuals were found deceased.
They were identified as Tina Jensen, her 50-year-old boyfriend, Ronald B. Heritage, with whom she lived, and their longtime friend, 55-year-old Norma M. Voges. All three were also colleagues at the U.S. Postal Service. The initial response from the Lincoln Police Department pointed towards a murder-suicide.
Investigators from both the Lincoln Police Department and the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office conducted a thorough search of the residence that continued through the night. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and evidence suggested it had been discharged inside the house. The investigation concluded that Ronald Heritage was the perpetrator, having killed both Tina Jensen and Norma Voges before taking his own life. The police assured the public that they were not seeking any other individuals in connection with the incident and that there was no ongoing threat to the community.
