Annette Grimes, a 51-year-old Caucasian female, was killed on March 23, 2019, in a double homicide in the small village of Douglas, Nebraska. On that Saturday morning, just before 6:00 a.m., Otoe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of gunshots at a residence located at 100 Otoe Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of Annette and 56-year-old Randal "Randy" Grimes.
Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
The Nebraska State Patrol was called in to lead the investigation into the double homicide. Their investigation quickly identified a person of interest, Brindar H. Jangir, who was 36 years old at the time. Authorities released his name and date of birth to the public, asking for any information regarding his whereabouts. Law enforcement agencies including the Otoe County Sheriff's Office, Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, and the Lincoln Police Department cooperated in the ongoing investigation. Hours before the slayings, the suspect had allegedly sought to acquire a shotgun for what he claimed was for protection.
