On May 23, 2020, Michael Whitemagpie, a 31-year-old man from Lincoln, Nebraska, was fatally shot in an alley near 33rd and S Street. Lincoln police officers discovered Whitemagpie with multiple gunshot wounds around 4 a.m., and he later succumbed to his injuries.
