On the evening of September 12, 2021, 18-year-old Franco Vasquez, a Hispanic male, was fatally shot in the parking lot of Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska. The incident unfolded outside of the Dick's Sporting Goods store. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Vasquez and an 18-year-old female companion inside a Volkswagen Jetta, both having sustained gunshot wounds.
