On November 8, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Omaha, Nebraska, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Messiah Holley. The Omaha Police Department received a 911 call just before 7 p.m. for a ShotSpotter activation in the area of North 18th and Spencer Streets.
