Police said the disturbance escalated into a shooting, and by the time officers and paramedics reached the street, three people had been struck.
Moore was found among the wounded and received immediate first aid from responding officers and paramedics. He was rushed to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Two other victims, a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, were also shot. Authorities said some of the uninvited people who arrived at the Louis Court party had previously been at another party in the nearby Buckley community before the violence erupted in Salem Woods. Detectives sought information about people who attended either gathering, the sequence of events that brought the groups together, and the vehicle believed to have left the scene after the shooting.
At the time of the initial public reports, police had not announced any arrests. Publicly available online reports identified no named suspect, no filed charges, and no trial or conviction connected to Moore's killing. The case was described as an active homicide investigation, with New Castle County police asking witnesses and anyone with relevant information to come forward as they worked to identify the people responsible.
