On August 3, 2009, in Rumford, Maine, 48-year-old Roger Leroy Day Jr. and 22-year-old Victor Reed Sheldon were fatally shot inside Day's Pine Street residence. The assailant, 19-year-old Eric Hamel, was enlisted by his friend, 20-year-old Richard A. Moulton Jr., who offered $2,000 for the killings.
