On June 13, 2011, 12-year-old Monica Raye Lake was tragically killed in a murder-suicide orchestrated by her father, Steven Lake, in Dexter, Maine. The incident also claimed the lives of her mother, Amy Lake, 38, and her 13-year-old brother, Coty Lake. Steven Lake, who had a history of domestic violence, fatally shot his estranged wife and their two children before taking his own life.
