On February 15, 2018, in Richmond, Maine, 33-year-old Jesse James Melanson died by suicide as law enforcement officers were executing a search warrant at his residence. Officers from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from Richmond Police Chief Scott MacMaster, were investigating allegations of stolen property, including a motorboat found on Melanson's property.
