On August 13, 2019, 51-year-old Roger Ellis and 25-year-old Allen Curtis, both residents of Castle Hill, Maine, were found fatally shot inside Ellis's red 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on State Road (Route 227). State troopers, responding to a suspicious noise complaint shortly after midnight, initially suspected a collision between the pickup and an unregistered 2006 Suzuki ATV found abandoned at the scene.
