On March 15, 2020, 23-year-old Cameron Pelkey was fatally shot inside a residence at 308B Penobscot Avenue in Millinocket, Maine. The incident occurred during a confrontation involving Jason Mulligan, 45, of Bangor, who had come to the home seeking drugs. Mulligan became agitated when he couldn't locate the drugs and brandished a firearm, leading to a struggle during which Pelkey was shot in the head.
