Anthony Korizek, 43, male, was a deputy sheriff in Lewis and Clark County when his final morning in Helena began with the routine duty of escorting a prisoner from a jail cell to the courthouse. The summer light on Friday, August 12, 1904, filtered through the halls of justice as he moved his charge along, a man already notorious in the city for a brazen scheme to extort $50,000 from the Northern Pacific Railroad.
