On a summer day in Thompson Falls, Montana, the life of 39-year-old Linda Sexton was tragically cut short in a devastating act of violence. On July 2, 1982, Linda, along with four other family members, was killed by her estranged husband, Loxley Sexton, in a horrific murder-suicide.
The events of that day unfolded as 47-year-old Loxley Sexton fatally shot his wife, Linda.
His violent rampage did not end there; he also took the lives of their three children: Debbie, who was 18, Bobby, aged 16, and the youngest, 8-year-old Michael. Linda's mother, 65-year-old Francis Cunningham, was also a victim of her son-in-law's actions.
After murdering his wife, his children, and his mother-in-law, Loxley Sexton then took his own life. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the heart. As the perpetrator of the killings, Loxley Sexton was deceased at the scene, leaving no suspect for law enforcement to arrest or prosecute in the wake of the family tragedy.
