Chad Rockman, a 43-year-old white/Caucasian male from Billings, left for the mountains south of Red Lodge on the morning of April 8, 2020, hoping a hike on the Lake Fork Trail would clear his head. Snow still choked the road and his SUV became stuck, drawing the attention of a passing husband-and-wife hiker who pulled over near Lake Fork Road to help.
