In the small ski resort town of Red Lodge, Montana, James "Jimmy" McGregor, a 63-year-old White/Caucasian male, was a familiar and well-liked member of the community. Originally from Michigan, he had spent most of his adult life as a ranch hand in Montana. Known for his kind and generous nature, McGregor lived a simple life in a small shack and did odd jobs at a local hardware store. Despite his modest circumstances, he was known to have a significant amount of cash that he kept with him.
