In the quiet city of Billings, Montana, the life of a 34-year-old Caucasian woman, Kira Kristie Ost, was tragically cut short on the evening of Sunday, May 31, 2020. Her death, which occurred in a residence on the west end of the city, was the result of a single gunshot wound.
Responding to a report of a shooting, Billings police officers arrived at the home to a grim scene. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Kira and a man, later identified as 34-year-old Andrew Clonce.
It was determined that Clonce had also died from a single gunshot wound, which authorities believed to be self-inflicted.
The investigation that followed led police to classify the deaths as a murder-suicide. The Yellowstone County Coroner's office confirmed the identities of both individuals and the cause of their deaths. While the investigation continued to ascertain the full circumstances leading to the tragic event, it was believed that Clonce was the perpetrator in Kira's death before taking his own life. No other suspects were sought in connection with the incident.
