Maria Rocio Pasillas, a 38-year-old Caucasian female, tragically lost her life on July 20, 2017, in Burley, Idaho. Her death was the result of a murder-suicide orchestrated by her husband, 43-year-old Felipe Caldera Pasillas. The couple was discovered in the basement of a building on Overland Avenue that served as both their family business and their home.

Investigators from the Cassia County Sheriff's Office determined that a domestic dispute likely preceded the fatal incident. Evidence recovered from the scene, along with autopsy results, indicated that Felipe shot his wife with a 9mm handgun before taking his own life with the same weapon. Both Maria and Felipe died from single gunshot wounds.
The case was officially ruled a murder-suicide, with law enforcement confirming that Felipe Caldera Pasillas was the sole suspect in his wife's death.
