In a tragic turn of events that shook the small communities of southern Idaho, Hispanic female Angelica Medina, a 35-year-old mother from the Burley area, was killed on July 8, 2025. Her death was part of a violent spree that claimed the lives of three other individuals across two counties, leaving a profound sense of loss and a community in mourning.
On that Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement officers were called to a residence in Rupert, where they discovered Angelica Medina deceased
from at least one gunshot wound. This initial discovery was the beginning of a larger, more complex investigation that would soon span across both Minidoka and Cassia counties. As the day unfolded, the grim reality of the situation became clearer. Two other victims, Kelly Jenks, 66, and his wife Donna Jenks, 62, were found dead in their Burley home, also from gunshot wounds. A fourth victim, 77-year-old Dennis Mix, was later found deceased in his vehicle at a gas station in Heyburn. The string of homicides sent shockwaves through the region as residents grappled with the senseless violence.
