In the quiet farming town of Minidoka, Idaho, a violent encounter on the evening of April 28, 2018, left a family shattered and a community in shock. Rafael Gil Vargas, a 43-year-old Hispanic male, was shot and fatally wounded in an incident that also injured a young woman. The shooting, which authorities later described as stemming from a domestic dispute, cut short the life of a man remembered by his loved ones.
