On March 12, 2022, authorities responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at a Rexburg, Idaho motel. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of 37-year-old Iliana Jespersen and her husband, 49-year-old Jason Jespersen, both deceased from gunshot wounds to the head. The investigation determined that Jason shot and killed Iliana before turning the gun on himself. The couple was visiting Rexburg from Arizona.
