On August 22, 2024, in Rexburg, Idaho, 35-year-old Ariana Chavez was fatally shot multiple times in the upper body. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. at her residence on Lilac Street in the Mill Hollow neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found Chavez's body near the base of the front stairs, with a firearm lying nearby. Her domestic partner, 32-year-old Fabian Hernandez, was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
