Rory Mehen

Murdered

Rory Mehen, a 47-year-old resident of New Meadows, Idaho, was tragically killed on October 1, 2022. He and his wife, Sara, were shot and killed at their own business, the Hartland Inn.

The suspect, John Cody Hart, was a guest at the inn at the time of the shooting. Earlier that day, the Mehens had reported Hart to the police for behaving suspiciously and entering other guests' rooms. A deputy responded and warned Hart to stop, but was called away to a higher priority incident.
