On June 21, 2017, 24-year-old James Brock was fatally shot in Franklin, New Hampshire. His remains were discovered on August 1, 2017, in a wooded area of the city, following information provided to the police. An autopsy confirmed that Brock died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
