On June 21, 2017, 24-year-old James Brock was fatally shot in Franklin, New Hampshire. His remains were discovered on August 1, 2017, in a wooded area of the city, following information provided to the police. An autopsy confirmed that Brock died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Investigations led authorities to Richard Tripaldi, Brock's former boyfriend, as the primary suspect. Tripaldi was apprehended in Manchester, New Hampshire, on August 2, 2017. During questioning, he confe ...
