On the evening of October 21, 2018, 36-year-old white male Kris Dube was found fatally shot inside a residence at 10 Lakeview Drive in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Responding officers discovered both Kris Dube and his girlfriend, 36-year-old white female Kathleen Moran, suffering from gunshot wounds. Kris Dube was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kathleen Moran was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigations revealed that the perpetrator was Kevin Moran, a 41-year-old white male from Ossipee, New Hampshire, and the estranged husband of Kathleen Moran. Authorities determined that Kevin Moran was unhappy with his wife's relationship with Kris Dube and had previously threatened them. The day after the shootings, Kevin Moran checked himself into a hospital, remaining there until October 30, 2018. On October 31, 2018, he sent messages to family members before fatally shooting himself in a vehicle outside his home.
Based on physical evidence, phone records, and interviews, law enforcement officials concluded that Kevin Moran was responsible for the deaths of Kris Dube and Kathleen Moran. No arrests were made, as the suspect died by suicide.
Kris Dube was remembered as a devoted father to his daughter Kassidy and was known for his love of music, particularly the Grateful Dead. He had a close relationship with his parents and was described by friends and family as a kind and gentle soul.
