Finn M.W. Caspersen, a 67-year-old financier and philanthropist, was found dead on September 7, 2009, in the Shelter Harbor community of Westerly, Rhode Island. His death was ruled a suicide by gunshot to the head. A .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, owned by Caspersen, was discovered near his body. In a note, he expressed feelings of being tired, diminished, and in constant pain, not wanting to burden his family.
