On July 6, 2015, 27-year-old Joao Dos Santos of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was fatally shot while driving in Providence. At approximately 1:15 a.m., police received reports of one vehicle chasing another, accompanied by gunfire and a subsequent crash. Investigations suggest that Dos Santos was pursued by another car, prompting him to drive the wrong way down Canal Street, a one-way road.
