On January 19, 2024, 33-year-old Jocelyn DoCouto, a mother of two and owner of the Jae Slayed x Beat By Maggs Studio hair salon in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was fatally shot outside her workplace. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Central and Kenyon Avenues, where police discovered DoCouto with multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
