On the night of July 5, 2024, 44-year-old Stephanie Francis was fatally shot in her Hopkinton, Rhode Island, home. Her estranged husband, 45-year-old Joseph Francis, was identified as the primary suspect. At the time of the incident, three children were present in the residence, including the couple's two children and a visiting neighbor. The children were unharmed and contacted authorities following the shooting.
