Julio Joseph Bald Eagle, a 19-year-old Native American man, died on the evening of December 27, 2016, in Kyle, South Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. In the days that followed, his name and death date appeared in public obituary notices that placed his passing on that Tuesday and set funeral services for early January 2017.
