Mark Lamonte “Mont” Mecham, a 67-year-old White male, died on April 3, 2017, after authorities and law-enforcement memorials linked his death to the terrible wounds he had carried for more than two decades. Though he passed away in Idaho, his name remained closely tied to Green River, Wyoming, where he had served as a longtime lieutenant with the Green River Police Department and where the violence that eventually claimed his life began.
