On September 12, 2021, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, 28-year-old Megan Lea Gustafson was fatally shot during an argument inside a residence on the 1300 block of 8th Avenue North. Officers responding to a call about a suspicious person around 1:30 a.m. heard a gunshot from within the home. Gustafson emerged from the residence, collapsed, and was later pronounced dead at Altru Hospital.
