On April 8, 2018, Jolene Kapua-Allison, a 54-year-old resident of Mountain View, Hawaii, was found dead in her home along with her estranged husband, Christopher Kapua-Allison, a police officer with the Hawaii Police Department.

An autopsy revealed that both individuals died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Jolene's death was ruled a homicide, while Christopher's death was determined to be a suicide. The incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
