In the early part of the 20th century, a tragic event unfolded in the city of Bessemer, Alabama, leading to the death of a respected lawman. Thomas Benjamin 'Ben' Wallace, the Chief of Police of the Bessemer Police Department, was a 26-year veteran of the force.
