In the early hours of a summer morning in Washington, D.C., tragedy struck 30-year-old Jameel Bilal, a Black male. On Sunday, August 12, 2007, at approximately 12:26 a.m., Bilal was inside a residence at 2502 Pomeroy Road, SE, when he was fatally shot. The Metropolitan Police Department swiftly responded to the scene, beginning an investigation into the violent incident that had claimed a life.
