In the spring of 2009, the life of a young man was tragically cut short on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama. Cory Deonta Cox, a 21-year-old male, was killed by gun violence on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. His death left a void in the lives of his family and friends, who would gather to remember him and lay him to rest.

Cory, who was also known as Corey, was mourned by his wife, Shanika Cox, and his mother, Glenda Thomas. He was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Thomas. He also left behi ...
