On December 26, 2009, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a shooting occurred at Club Peppers in Baxley, Appling County, Georgia. During this incident, 19-year-old Christopher Yarbrough was fatally shot in the parking lot. Two other individuals were also injured by gunfire but survived their injuries. The shooting was reportedly preceded by a fight, and it was noted that over a thousand people were present at the club when the incident took place.
